This Pride Month, Atlee Hall is again pleased to announce its sponsorship of Lancaster Pride. As a firm dedicated to pursuing justice and making our community safer for everyone, we are honored to support an organization with such an important and vital mission.
Just a few days ago, the Human Rights Campaign issued a “state of emergency” declaration over anti-LGBTQ+ laws passed across the country this year. That emergency declaration, the first in the HRC’s more than 40-year history, comes after over 75 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have become law in various states in 2023. Lawmakers’ efforts in many states have resulted in laws being passed banning gender-affirming care, LGBTQ+-inclusive education, inclusive bathrooms, and drag performances.
This highlights just how critical it is voice our support for the fight for equality. After all, Pride was inspired by the Stonewall riots where LGBTQ+ individuals stood their ground against police targeting them as a result of their gender identity or sexual orientation. The HRC’s declaration underscores the importance of continuing the fight, with the goal of making our community safer and celebrating the beauty of diversity and inclusion.
