June 3 is National Running Day

 

When someone mentioned something about “National Running Day” to me a few years back, my reaction was: “Isn’t that every day of the year?”

Certainly for some people it is. Lacing up the shoes and getting out for a daily run—whether it’s an easy jog or a hard workout—is a ritual for most runners.

But the intent of National Running Day is more than just going out for your usual run. It’s a way to celebrate your dedication to fitness or the start of a new path to healthiness. But it’s also about sharing your running passion with others and encouraging friends, co-workers, family members and complete strangers to get out and run too.
